Zulfiqar Khan is a distinguished figure in the field of engineering and research. With a career marked by leadership and innovation, he has served as the Associate Dean of Research & Enterprise and the Director of the University Sustainable Design Research Centre (SDRC). His expertise led him to spearhead the Unit of Assessment 12 (Engineering) during REF2021 and he is currently guiding preparations for REF2027.In 2015, Professor Khan founded the Nano-Corr, Energy & Modelling (NCEM) research group, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to Nanoengineering & Energy Systems (NES®) in collaboration with industry and academic partners. Professor Khan’s contributions to tribology and sustainable development have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the Distinguished Researcher in Tribology Award and the Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kay Pfaffenberger is a prominent academic and consultant with a Master’s in Economic Sciences and a PhD in Business Administration. Prof. Dr. Reiner Johannes Schütt is the scientific head of the working group "Grid Integration" at the Institute for the Transformation of the Energy System (ITE) at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences and head of the focus area "Automation of Sustainable Energy Systems" in the "Competence Centre Renewable Ener-gies and Climate Protection Schleswig-Holstein" (EKSH). He graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Hanover in 1987. Prof. Schuett began his professional career as a research and development engineer in the field of power electronics at the University of Hanover, where he completed his doctorate in 1992 on the subject of "Stresses on insulated gate bipolar transistors in pulse converters". He worked for several years as technical manager at ENERCON Nord Electronic GmbH in Aurich and Bargteheide. In 1998, he moved to the West Coast University of Applied Sciences in Schleswig-Holstein as a professor for electrical drives and con-trols with a focus on applications in decentralised sustainable energy systems. He has published numerous technical papers in journals and conference proceedings on the control and automation of decentralised electrical generators and their integration into the electrical energy supply. Prof. Schütt is co-author of the book "Understanding Wind Power Technology" published by Springer Verlag.

Zhisheng Niu graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University, China, in 1985, and got his M.E. and D.E. degrees from Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan, in 1989 and 1992, respectively. During 1992-1994, he worked for Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Japan, and in 1994 joined with Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, where he is now a professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering. During 1997-1998, he visited Hitachi Central Research Laboratory as a HIVIPS senior researcher. His major research interests include queueing theory and traffic engineering, wireless communications and mobile Internet, vehicular communications and smart networking, and green communication and networks. Dr. Niu has been serving IEEE Communications Society since 2000, first as Chair of Beijing Chapter and then as Director of Asia-Pacific Board, Director for Conference Publications, Chair of Emerging Technologies Committee, and Director for Online Contents. He has also served as editor of IEEE Wireless Communication, associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE/CIC joint publication China Communications, and Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Trans. Green Commun. & Networks. He received the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from Natural Science Foundation of China in 2009, Best Paper Awards from IEEE Communication Society Asia-Pacific Board in 2013 and from Journal of Communications and Information Networks (JCIN) in 2019, Distinguished Technical Achievement Recognition Award from IEEE Communications Society Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee in 2018, and Harold Sobol Award for Exemplary Service to Meetings & Conferences from IEEE Communication Society in 2019. He was selected as a distinguished lecturer of IEEE Communication Society as well as IEEE Vehicular Technologies Society. He is a fellow of both IEEE and IEICE.

Born and educated in Belgrade, Serbia, I graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Process Technology. As my initial job after graduation was as a sales engineer assistant for Finnish paper producer agent office in Belgrade, where I became interested in paper technology and biomaterials. Upon moving to Finland in 1996,I began postgraduate studies in the field of pulp and paper technology. In 2001, I completed a one-year Linkage Program in Pulp and Paper Engineering at Helsinki University of Technology (HUT), now known as Aalto University. I finished my Licentiate degree in 2012, and Doctoral Degree in 2014, both in the field of rheology and gel phase separation of nanocellulose containing papermaking suspension and dewatering. As our family lived in Luxembourg and Switzerland from 2005 until 2010 and in that period, I was working in the fields of sanitary process equipment sales in Luxembourg, teaching at secondary school in Zurich, and conducted part of my doctoral studies working at the rheology laboratory at the ETH. Over the span of a decade, I have delved into the intricate landscape of cellulose-based biomaterials,I have over decade long experience in the research and development and this honed my expertise in data analyzing, project planning, execution, and comprehensive reporting.

Ancuța Maria Măgurean is engineer and researcher in the field of energy efficiency of buildings, being an energy auditor for buildings Ici degree, Asst. Prof. at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, expert of the European Commission, former Vice-President of AAECR (Association of Energy Auditors for Buildings in Romania). Her activity focuses both on applied engineering and on scientific research. She is involved, as certified specialist, in the development of energy audits and nZEB design studies, holistically approached, with the proposal of technical solutions (for the building envelope, HVAC, DHW, lighting and renewable energy sources), in order to lead to the increase of the energy performance of buildings, with a focus on the implementation of the nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Buildings) design concept, for a wide range of buildings. Dr. Chandra Ward is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga teaching urban sociology and a number of other sociological topics. Her research is guided by the philosophy of helping to amplify traditionally marginalized voices. Maarten Vanierschot received a Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the KU Leuven, Belgium in 2002. He conducted research on swirling jets as a PhD-student from 2003 till 2007 and continued this research as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KU Leuven. From 2014 on, he became an assistant professor and in 2019 he became an associated professor. His research focuses on industrial applications of fluid mechanics, including heat- and mass transfer and two phase flow systems. His group has both expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), as well as Experimental Fluid Mechanics, mostly laser diagnostics.

Prof. Hasan KOTEN graduated from Mechanical Engineering Department with honor of degree in 2007. At the same time, he received a BSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department as a double major. Hasan KOTEN worked in the first full geometry engine design project for The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). During his Ph.D., he worked as a visiting scholar at the Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research (CAR). Hasan KÖTEN also worked as a consultant for TUBITAK Domestic Electric Vehicle Design project in 2017. He attended to CEDP group at Brunel University as a post-doctorate researcher in 2018. He leaded number of projects, MSc and PhD thesis in this combustion field. He attended and presented more than 150 conference proceedings and published about 100 articles indexed in SCI and SCI-e. He is awarded by TUBITAK 2238 programme with first degree over all national PhD thesis applications.Also, he worked in CCRC, KAUST, Saudi Arabia and in University Applied Science in Germany as visiting professor. He has many patents in the field of energy systems. Dr. Hasan KÖTEN is still working at the mechanical engineering department of Istanbul Medeniyet University. Currently, He is working at Turkey's largest TÜBİTAK budgeted 2400HP 16 and 8-cylinder engine production project.

Chen Zhao received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He is currently serving as a postdoctoral fellow and management trainee at Windey Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd, Hangzhou, China. He was the recipient of the Best Paper Awards at both APPEEC 2020 and CEEPE 2021, and also received Excellent Postgraduate Students' Award from Zhejiang University. His research interests include the frequency support and voltage support of inverter-based resources for power systems.

Additionally, he is the founder of a carbon tech solution designed to help companies manage and offset their carbon footprint, earning recognition from prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, IBM, Ericsson, and New Relic. He has also been appointed as the Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Reactors Division. During this Period, he was the Supervisor of the second Egyptian Research Reactor ETRR-2 Complex. Then he was promoted as the Chairman of NRC which is the oldest and biggest center at EAEA. Moreover, he held the position of Vice Chairman of EAEA for Training and International Cooperation. He has a wide experience in multicultural settings and international exposure to various events (technical meetings, workshops, scientific conferences, etc.) in the regional and international levels. Prof. Samy has gained an extensive experience for more than 25 years in experimental work. He published more than 74 scientific research in the most distinguished International Journals. He also has more than 10 years of managerial experience, first at the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority and then at the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority.
